The Varmint Dad Brought Home

Look at this!
Boy... it looks like Stalag 13 around here (anyone remember "Hogan's Heroes"?). As you can imagine, we are fairly outta our skins about the wild charlatan that Dad showed up with tonight.

We had to make lots of noise and hoopla over it in hopes that it would run away. Then we could really indulge in mayhem, prey and all! Here's a little movie of our meeting the beastie.

We began figgurin' out that we could play with its nose...

And another movie that will show you how we are not at all scared by the varmint.

Avalon even managed to capture it. She was workin' on destroying it last time I saw her.

Again, a million thanks for all your pawsitive comments about Ozzie. We continue to be amazed by her stellar progress. Her adjustment has been so quick, as so many of you assured us would happen. You were so right on! Here, in a pretty bad photo (but we didn't want to go in the room and have her jump off) is Oz on the third level of this tree. A neighbor brought this over for her to use and she loves it! We know she will continue to do well - physically and with spirit! Yay!

Happy Friday, Happy Weekend!

HAH! That's too funny. I tortured Marge with a squirrel toy one time in the yard. Put it on a rope and swung it around. She was confused for a little while!

Sammie, in that first video, your face is priceless. You look SO concerned that that thing is in your house!

I just read over at the White Dog Diary that today is National Squirrel Day. Then, I visited your blog - and your dogs were hell-bent on killing a squirrel. Very very funny videos!!!!!

That is a very realistic squirrel. I love it!

I'm so glad that Ozzie is recovering so fast. What an adaptable boy!

I love how Avalon gets up on her back legs to check things out closer. So cute!

Good thing you two have a sense of humor! That varmint would have made me hoppin' mad I think, especially if mom was teasing me with it like that! Hope Avalon gave it a good de-
stuffing by now!!

Samie and Avalon are a good pair. Samie is a thoughtful intellectual and Avalon is hyper. Very good for squirrel science.

Oh, so glad Ozzie is doing well. It is amazing how these animals rebound, isn't it? That squirrel looks super fun. I keep looking for a duck with a retractable tail like you guys had at Bark in the Park that day. If you see one for sale, please let me know--Cabana loved that thing!
