Wordy Wednesday - I'm a Nurse!

I've currently adopted a new role; I have been Avalon's nursie since yesterday afternoon. She had her um... er... girl parts removed and when I saw her being lifted into the car at the Vet's, I could tell she was a bit whacko. At home, she would walk into a corner of the room and just stand there, slightly tottering, looking at the walls as if she forgot what she came there for. Well... I had to step in. For one, I had to urge Ma to use the awful cone, so she'd stop licking the um... the "area." So with my ministrations, she made it through the night with a good sleep despite cone! And come early morning (sorries for the grainy photo), she seemed much more bright-eyed and bushy tailed. And she ate a really good breakfast. (We both got excellent treats too and some sheep yoghurt! - Yummmnnnnny!)

Happy December 1st.

Momma wanted to make a post to celebrate Sammie's 2nd Bloggieversary yesterday, but we hope she doesn't mind if we do this on the next post. She's a pretty agreeable lady! Avalon's doing great and this morning, seems almost normal - amazing! Happy Hump Day.

Hi Avalon-
Sorry about the vet trip....but I do like your cone. It's kinda fancy, like a 'super hero' cape!
Well, you are a 'Wonder Dog!'

Oh Avalon, we are sending you lots of basset drool and kisses - we remember Martha being so miserable although Bailey recovered in record time!
We think you will be like Bailey as you have such excellent nursing support from Sammie.
We can see what excellent care she is taking and can we say we thought that looked a much better 'cone' than we usually have!
You rest up and take care sweet girl.
Keep up the good work Sammie. We are loving the wintery background too.
Much love

So, she had her zipper surgery? Poor little thing, all dorked out from the drugs. That is one weird looking cone, but if it works, go with it.
