Chillin' s'more.
Picked up one of the hairy giant's toys (cause I happen to like hers better than mine) and started playin' with it.
Feels good... Then I heard a scream from inside the house. I guess ma found my pressie of this evening. A nice bird. Under the coffee table. She apparently stepped on it barefooted. Then she came out to me and found this.
The Evidence... that the peeps talk about...
The Evidence... that the peeps talk about...
Note from mom: I emitted such a bloodcurdling scream when I stepped on that bird that I think Sammie might be deaf at this point. Ozzie looked amused.
Note from Sammie: The scream issuing from ma led me to believe that something had broken into the house again - like the raccoon last night that opened the giant garage door all by itself and walked in, calmly as "I own this place" and went for my food. The nerve! I woke everybody up, you better believe it. And now look at the eviedence above that simply makes my peeps crazy.

I fail to see what the problem is. Ozzie has left you all a present and all you can do is complain!

Animal adventure over there!!!!
No bolt in the big heavy door? Or, smarter coons? Do they have a key?
Wooooooo.....Ozzy! Try the kitty condo sometime...
Sammie! You let Ozzy refer to you as the big hairy giant?
We'll see you on the other-side of this weekend for SURE!!! (leaving for the mountains in the AM...too windy this eve.)
Sammie, come for a visit soon!!!

oh dear - we have similar problems here with THREE, count 'em, THREE cats - Once when daddy was out of town mom didn't leave the house for 2 days because there were 2 birds on the deck and there was NO WAY mom was going past them - You should see her TOTALLY FREAK OUT when she sees a dead bird, mouse, mole or whatever else they might drag up!!!!!!! Mom does NOT appreciate those pressies.
I can relate to the Racoon Sammie - we've got a couple as well as a couple of possums - My brother has trapped a couple and relocated them - then we discovered it is against the law and the fine is $500 - We have a racoon who is so comfortable here that he chills out on the deck in a chair WITH the cats!!!! What is wrong with that picture?
Whoa! Sammie here: gotta respond to these great comments! Thought we were the only ones with these issues, but apparently not!!! Thank dogness that my loud alarm at 3:30 am is not something out of the ordinary. Seems like you others have similar problems or even... worse!!!
Sammie
You certainly were generous to bring home a purr-esent to your momma but you should have told her where it was so she wouldn't step on it with bare feet...or...did you plan it that way, you silly kitty☺
We don't have any present leavin' kitties at our house....but I know if we did my mom would scream really loud !
~Lexi~
Thank you for the good laugh - I loved this posting (even though Momma had the misfortune of stepping on a bird).
I think it is furry sweet of Ozzie to leave woo a present! It shows that he was thinking of woo!!! It's so sweet!!!

If we carried in a dead bird, our Mom would have a real heart attack. We don't want to loose her.

Back when we had a cat, she would leave presents on the patio but they weren't in what we'll call "good condition"

Our mum had a cat for 22 years who lived happily with her then dog. Her name was Mouschi and she just loved to bring mum home presents - it is a way of saying thank you!
Those were lovely pictures.

Oh no!! A burglar? Must have been a raccoon - they have the face mask ;)
It is nice to meet you Ozzie. In my time following Sammie's blog I have heard of you, but don't recally seeing you. You're quite handsome.
Gosh - all the excitement happening at your house, Sammie!! I don't think I could sleep for a week after that! My kitty sister used to bring things in for my humans too but she wasn't a very good hunter and the only thing she could bring back were tailess lizards!! hee! hee!

Wait a minute, you had a yummy bird and mouse and you didn't eat it? Cats are so strange.
Hope that you all are not deaf now from the screeching.
Slobbers,
Mango
Great photos of you but we think our Mom would have freaked if she saw those lovely presents you brought home too. That's why we don't bring ours inside.
