My pal, Honey, isn't doing very well. Her mom, Kristin, and dad, Dave, are sad and giving Honey lots of loves and park time. I hope you'll stop by Honey's blog (http://supertrooperhoney.blogspot.com) and say hi. Thanks so much.
Oh, dear Sammie, we know how close you are to Honey and we're sending you hugs too, you must be so worried and sad for your friend. We have just been to Honey's blog to send our good wishes. Lots of love and slobbers xx
Momma just read the newz on Honeys blog and iz very sad... she says she can relate to what they are going through because she went through it with my Sissie Destiny...
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh dear Sammie.... we're so sad for Honey!!! she is a very very sweet girl and we loved her and her blog a lot!!!! we have visited Honey already and we have our paws crossed for her!!! she and her humans are in our prayers... We know how much Honey is important for you Sammie.....we're near you and stay up...she needs you!!!! Lots of love and kisses...
Samantha, we just left Honey's blog - we wish her only wonderfully happy days. It is very sad, but as we told her humans, they have to treasure every day they get - that is what we are doing with sweet Dakota.
Hey Sammie, Honey's mom and dad will be taking very good care of her. We really do know how devastating Honey's illness can be. They will have more good times together and keep loving each other forever and ever. Our brothers Chance and Gordon and our blog buddy Spencer are all still very much loved dogs. - The Bumpass Hounds and Kitties http://bumpasshounds.blogspot.com/2008_03_16_archive.html
That is so sad about Golden Honey - I have already stopped by her blog and left some slobbers.
About the bones - if you want to try some 'real' bones, just avoid the big, hard (beef) cannon/marrow bones which can be very hard and can crack teeth. But also make sure the pieces are bigger than your mouth so you cannot swallow them whole by mistake!
Brisket bones are softer and safer to chew on -you can just ask your butcher for lamb brisket bones or beef brisket bones. (brisket = ribs) My butcher keeps a whole bucket of these unwanted bones just for dog owners - and they are very cheap! My humans buy a bunch and keep them in the freezer and give me one every so often.
You can also try oxtail bones (you often find these in the supermarket) - as long as you choose the bigger pieces - these are nice to chew on for smaller dogs! I can't have them coz I have a really big mouth and I can swallow them whole without chewing on them, so they might be a bit risky for me.
Don't forget - never cook the bones! Cooking will make them hard and brittle and more likely to splinter and crack - and hurt you!
Otherwise, don't worry about it - as long as you're chewing on something hard regularly (eg. Nylabone) - then that is good!
Thank you Sammie and family! You are such dear friends, and we appreciate you so much. We'll take it day by day..... Honey had a good day yesterday with mom and Dixie, and you and Sammie. These times mean so much! Much love, Honey and family www.supertrooperhoney.blogspot.com
