Don't you love it? The Marinwood Fire Station has a great sense of humor!
First of all, I want to thank all of you witty doggies whose comments were outrageously funny on the captions post! I think I'll keep doing this and may ask you pups to contribute hilarious pix to comment on too - good idea? I'll be posting Mom's (not creative) button by Friday evening, so that if you want, you can post it to your blogs as extremely worthy contributors to this "meme"? And now I want to start adding to the True Colors meme today, because I not only love the color violet, but because I love the world's colors.
So after Mom came home after work, I got my hour's worth of kong chasing. Then we went for a walk, photographing all the violets in my local world. Then we had to get Mom's grandpeep in West Marin county, where we found a fabulous homemade kite! Then we had to stop and photograph the house where little grandpeeps lived for about a year. It's... violet!

Your violets are beautiful - love the kite and is that a magnolia tree? One of Mom's favorites.

Hi, Samantha! You look so pretty there sitting by that flowery tree!
Hey Samantha,
Those are very nive photographs of violet things. We think violet is a very nice color BUT... Although we see and appreciate the full spectrum of colors,we really only recognize the colors that are on a Wonder Bread wrapper. We checked in the FooFoo Encyclopedia and sure sure enough, there it was in black and white: violet. It is listed right along with chartreuse, pink, lavender, mauve, magenta, taupe, cyan, and a whole lot of other FooFoo colors.
Almost all visible colors can be obtained by the additive color mixing of three colors that are in widely spaced regions of the visible spectrum. If the three colors of light can be mixed to produce white, they are called primary colors and the standard additive primary colors are red, green and blue.
Two colors that produce white when added together are called complementary. The color complementary to a primary color is called a secondary color. The complementary or secondary colors for red, green and blue are cyan, magenta and yellow respectively. These three colors are often referred to as the subtractive primary colors. When the three are combined in subtractive color mixing, they produce black.
Because colors get to be so opinionated and complicated in discussion, we favor sticking to the colors on the Wonder Bread wrapper.
