I think Mom shoulda made a photoshow outta this adventure, because there are so many pictures of another one of my favorite places. Our county has an amazing string of lands set aside for doggies like me, Sammie, (and people too, cyclists, and, other furry creatures - some wild - and some not. I personally like the horses because of the delicious apples they leave behind. It was still a dark and stormy day, but the riverbed now has rushing water in it which makes me extremely happy. I got a lot done here yesterday - met some old friends, investigated the gopher holes, checked out the bridges to see if they were still safe for my peeps, and finally - FINALLY ran into my old golden buddies from last fall! Just seeing them made me kick up my heels in a frenzy. I get a total case of the woopies! This is when I run about 90 miles an hour around and around, making me, as well as anyone watching go totally dizzy with vertigo. In the last picture you can see Roddy's tongue in the corner trying just to stand as I race around him. That sure was fun. I was old mud-puppy again. When I got there, I was so clean (see below). When we got back to the car, I felt exhilarated and satiated. Mom and Dad massaged the mud off me with towels and I slept until dinner time. What a day! And super good cause Dad came home early from work! I hope I get to go back soon!

Hey Samantha,
Our mom was born and raised in South San Francisco. Mom used to work at NAS Alameda and dad was stationed there; they lived down in Heyward 1985-88. We have a close friend in Walnut Creek and family in San Leandro. Mom and dad used to go to the Renaisance Fair in Navoto and of course they spent lots of weekends in Sanoma-Napa (Sanapa-Noma). None of us have ever been to the Bay Area. Rusty and Penny drove out to North Beach on Lake Tahoe with mom years ago; they're both at The Bridge now but we have photos of them swimming after geese on Lake Tahoe. A policemwoman was gonna give mom a ticket because Penny was swimming in the lake but when mom gave her a Virginia address the policewoman didn't bother. Both mom and dad are NASCAR fans and would like to go watch one of the Sprint Cup races at the Sears Point track. Dad says he fondly remembers Irish Coffees at The Buena Vista just up from Fisherman's Wharf. A couple of years ago they both went back for a week to play tourist. They stayed at Half Moon Bay and would drive up and take BART into town. They went to places they didn't go to when they lived there like Alcatraz and the Cable Car Museum and Coit Tower and Lomabard Street. They had a lot of fun being tourists. Mom says that when she was growing up her family would go to some Barbeque restaurant in Marin once a month. Mom really like Muir Woods too. So we have an indirect Bay Area affiliation. We googled The Indian Valley Open Space Preserve. It sure looks like a great place to have some fun.

Wow -that's quite a story! You DO certainly have affiliations here! All Marin County Open Space is incredibly and one of our goals is to explore every trail in the system, but I doubt we'll ever get to all of them - there are so many thousands of trails! Lucky us! And most are off-leash, which is such a bonus for doggies, who love this Space! Thanks for writing!

What a very cool adventure. We love exploring all of the parks in our area, but, sadly, being Siberians, never off-leash. But we can still get muddy even on leash.
