We're in Howliwood!

Whew! We made it - all dressed up for the Oscars and let me tell you - everyone looks so shiny and gorrrrrrrrrrrrgeous!!! We can't hang here on the blog for long, but we wanted to tell you what that crazy thingy was that we showed you a picture of last post!
Remember this picture - below?
Some of you knew exactly what it was! Yup - it's a disc golf "hole!"
This guy's selling the very special discs/frisbees (heheh) they use to tee off, etc. Yeah... they have "driver" frisbees and even "putter" frisbees - isn't that fun? The holes are really far away from each other, so you can get a pawesome run around a frisbee golf course!
Here's a guy "putting" for the hole! We wants to thank everyone who guessed and commented on our hikey! Chester, Wyatt, NanaNor and Zim, over at the Army of Four all knew what that thing was! Zim went on to tell us, incredibly, that the guy who lives across the street from him even has one in his YARD!!! Cool! Well... since that was so fun, here's another picture of something weird! Can you guess what it is? Answers to come soon! Have fun watching the Oscars and be looking for us there!

Hiking in Mrs. T's Footsteps!

Whee! Today, we had a beautiful, albeit a bit of a breathy hike up a track called the "Terwilliger Trail." Mrs. T, as she was known, was a most delightful teacher in these parts for much of her 97 years. Always wearing her signature straw hat, towing a long line of kids behind, she'd tell stories about "Mr. Gopher" and others on her nature walks all over the county. One of mom's fave Mrs. T tales involved a trip she took to the Reagan White House to be honored as an extraordinary volunteer. The first thing she did was pick up the garbage outside the gates there. Later, she had Reagan flapping his wings in a "V" form, like a vulture! Good for her! You can find out more about her here. We are at Stafford Lake Park.

There were a bazillion geese out enjoying the amazing day...And a really nice little pond with trees that are just beginning to bud.

And tons of green grasses to fly through on our way to the trail.
I think Avalon's nose got corkscrewed up here!
Not much elevation, but when you start at zero... you do get some views!
Up, up, up through a multitude of forest layerings... from grassy meadow, through oak woods and we even charged through a small redwood grove - all so pretty!
Mom's camera battery died and she began using her phone here...
We were starting to get some nice views here! You should have seen us running!
The redwood pictures and photos from the top didn't come out booooohoooooo! But at the bottom again, we took a well-deserved cooling dip in the stream here!
I REALLY enjoyed my cooldown!!! And now, a challenge: anybuddy know what this thing, below, is? There are a bunch of them here - any guesses? Have a great weekend!

Hangin' Out in Indian Valley Open Space

One of our most favoritest places to go that we can easily get to from home is here: Indian Valley Open Space - and we especially like it cause we can go offleash! After a little rain (which we haven't gotten much of this winter), there's a bit of water (and mud, of course), which is always good for a little fun!

Above, we are challenging each other to a bout of zoomies. We were going so fast, that our assistant couldn't get a picture of us!

Above, me - Sammie - having a run on a pretty side trail!
Avalon - sticking to the fire road!
Coming up the banks from the stream bed - don't I look full of blissful happiness?
Avalon's full of much happinesses too!
Our doggehmobile was parked along this fence with what we think is a small chapel (can't find info on it) in a sheep field - huh?!!! A bit further down the road, check out the sheep!
Momma wants to thank those of you who informed her that acorns were not good for us at all. She is very grateful, although we weren't too happy to hear about that as we really dig 'em!

Pillars of Strength - A Special Day for K

Although we haven't been very active bloggers lately, we have always enjoyed reading KB's blog
for the stunning photos, for the beautiful writing, for her analysis of the pictures from the wildlife cameras and her adventures from bike seat in the Colorado high country with her two labs, K and R.
While KB has faced and overcome challenges herself before, she now faces a trial with K, her most faithful and loving chocolate lab, who has the Evil-C. The greatest challenge of all, and yet KB (and K) have faced this most severe of trials with incredible fortitude. In today's post, for instance, K displays such optimistic playfulness in deep snow, despite two rounds of chemo; just seeing the photos inspires smiles rather than tears... and hope. On February 17, K has another round of chemo treatments. We join with other bloggers as part and parcel of the "pillars of strength" in supporting you in your ginormous battle with the evil C. Please go visit KB and K and this wonderful blog. We send the power of the paw to you with love and hugs. xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Yumzers!

Mom took us to Miller Creek a few days ago, thinking that we needed a run (and we did), but... once we discovered the gifts on the forest floor, we stopped our runnin' to investigate...

These are pretty awful pictures of us, but you can see us nosing around the leaves for something...

And here's a short movie of what we are doing...

And below... what. we. are. nomming. on. Yumzers!
