RoadTrip to Monterey/Carmel Part I - Woo Hoo!

We is definitely having some format probs., but we sure as heck had a wonnerful time on our camping trip to Monterey and Carmel! Dadzers had a mini-vacay for a few days, and we decided to take the camper south to San Juan Bautista, which is furry near Carmel and Monterey. Below is a pitchur of Cannery Row, made famous by Mr. John Steinbeck, who wrote about peoples when Monterey was known for its sardine canneries.

There is a wonnerful path for peoples, doggehs and cyclists called the Rail Trail that winds around the bay for about a thousand miles LOL!

Here we are, admiring a sculpture of Ed Ricketts, a marine biologist, ecologist and writer who collaborated with Steinbeck on The Log from the Sea of Cortez. Sadly, he died in a terrible accident in 1951 -way too young. This bust is located where his car collided with a train. And here we are being chased by seals... scary. Owwwwwwwwwwww - Sammie! And here is a photoshow of our adventures on a BOAT, where we check out the sea life in Monterey Bay which includes whales - woo hoo! Please biggify both the photoshow and the movie!

Our hu-dad is sighing because that area is one of his favorites to visit. His dad used to be based at Fort Ord many, many moons ago.

Mom just LOVED your pix and vids!!! She and Dad lived in Monterey for 6 months right when they were first married! (That was a million years ago; I think they had dinosaurs instead of sea otters..) She said your post brought back lots of great memories. I like that pic of you girls being chased by the seals! Wooo!

Dave
