WOOFS! A Roundup on the Longer Vacay...

I have missed my pals (and for a few days, my pawrents), so I'm very happy to be back here for a little catch-up! As some of you might have learned from Sierra (http://goldensierrarose.blogspot.com), I took a wonderful trip to the snow a couple of weeks ago. It was so pawsome to play in that deep fluffy stuff again - especially with my good pal!

Here is the trail - just especially for us!

Now I finally get to do my zoomies har har woof woof!!!

Dad came along too, as his vacay had started - the pawrents all snowshoed, so we had to do a lot of waiting around for them. The 5 1/2 mile trail was loaded with goodies for us to smell and enjoy to the max!

Weird, huh? Those holes were cool and smelly enough, but then there were those squirrels up top!

Pretty hard work trying to climb trees, so this watering hole came at a perfect time!

Always love those huggies with mama.

And of course, we never like to leave - Sierra almost got out - but once on our way, both of us passed out totally for the 4-hour drive!

Pops snapped this picture of Ozzie and me an hour before I had to go a boarding place for a few days. Mom and Dad had spoken with me about it and the people there are really nice. Besides, Sierra told me she was coming to get me for lots of play, so that made the prospect a bit easier. Here I am discussing this turn of events with my sis.

My pawrents took a road trip to Idaho for a birthday reunion with Dad's bro, Bob, who just turned 70! Since Dad and Bob were both born and raised in Sun Valley, Idaho (their dad helped to build the resort and was the Lodge barber for almost 30 years there), they were meeting there to ski and celebrate!

It was a very special trip for ma and pa too. They met there a century ago.

Here they are in 1969. Dad was a ski instructor there for almost nine years. Actually, these two got married in May 1970.

Ma and Pa jumped out of their car when they saw this handsome golden running next to his peep who was skinny skiing by the side of the road. He jumped right into our jeep!

Dad with his bro, Bob. Behind is Baldy, which they skiied on the rest of the time.

One view from the top of Baldy, looking southeast. There was much more fun, but it was time for ma and pa to come home to me!

I am VERY, VERY glad to see them!!! And I get lots of cookies and pressies heheh!!!

But not a lot of walkies, cause both pawrents have come home with bad sickness and stay in bed for days. It seems that all the Idaho contingent has the same thing. What that means for me is lots of rest on the bed with ma and dad, which is always okay by me - woof! Within a couple of days, the folks are up and around, moving slowly, but UP! Dad finally takes me for a walk, then the next day, mom does too. By Sunday, we check out the rain saturated back yard and find this sure harbinger of spring!

We will be getting around to your blogs as quickly as possible! A lot of you must have gotten a lot of snow lately! xo

I wish I DID have snow, Sammie - am still boiling to death in boiling Australia...well, at least we've had rain for a few days, although rain here is like a crazy monsoon - not the nice gentle stuff we had back in NZ!

OOh - you always go on the most fantastic treks & adventures, Sammie! Love the photos! And how romantic about your humans! Paul likes skiing but Hsin-Yi can't ski to save her life. She is terrified of even standing up straight in skis! :-)

Sammie, we just loved this post and tried several times yesterday to leave a comment.
We are not sure if it is us or blogger.
Beautiful pictures of the wonderful snow and scenery and lovely happy play with you and Sierra.
Good work Sammie on getting that stick off Sierra - after all these pups need to learn their place.
We particularly liked your very first pic - it looked like you had just fallen from the sky onto the snow.
We couldn't see any paw prints!
love and kisses
