Happy New Year!

This is how my day started. In jail. Hope your day began on a better note...

Mom's playing judge and official photographer for Shanti here. After lots and lots of work, we eventually...

get to play! Finally, Mom and I drive home and then...

Ma dressed me up AGAIN! (And they worry about my manic moodiness - what's up with that?) Well, there you have it - my #1, top-of-the-list resolution. If I'm gonna wish evfurrybuddy a Happy New Year in a jaunty frame of mind...

I gotta be nekkid kids! Au naturel! So now, here in my buffest buff, I send you a resounding Rrrrrowwwwwl and all my bestest wishes to you for a...

The Good, The Distracted and The Quite Ugly...

Well... here's the good - the last of our wonderful Christmas day with family from big to small, young to old(er) heheh, and what a great day it was for all!
Then we pulled out all the stops again, starting with steak. Some of you might remember what this is supposed to mean. Hmmmmmmnnnnnn.

Today I face the San Mateo County Fairgrounds gate as I try for my second leg of Novice A. Mom feels pretty confident that I will qualify.

We pass lots of doggies getting groomed for conformation classes. I barked at these. Not very polite.

I wanted to play with this cute young golden I saw! We finally found our ring, where the Open B classes were still going on. Here is "Dream" handled by Deedee Anderson. Dream won just about everything in 2008 that an obedience dog can get. Check out her heel position!

Wow!

Here we are listening to our judge's instructions before we get a walk-through of the heeling pattern. It was very easy. Because my dad was taking movies, there are no stills of my (er... ahem, cough, cough) performance. Suffice it to say, it was furry distracted, although I tried my best. I did the heel-on-leash, the figure-8 and the stand for examination just fine. But my off-leash heeling went south when I was asked to halt and I didn't sit. Weird. And then on the recall, I kinda rolled my head around like I was looking for dad, so I didn't hear mom call me - I really didn't - I was looking somewhere else. On Mom's second call, I was disqualified.

Sorry Ma, but I was worried about where Dad was (she seemed to be saying as she later nom nom-ed on steak...) Next Sunday, I'll be headed for the Cow Palace for a Fun Match to "straighten" things out a bit. (And mom says ditto for her heheh!)

My Pawesome Secret Santa!

Now can you guess who my secret Sandy Paws was???

I got this in the mail a few days ago, but Momma hid it from me!

On Christmas morning, I finally got to OPEN IT!!!

Here I am examining what could possibly be inside! It looked like it was made of grated cheddar cheese! What could it be???

I couldn't quite get it open, so I concentrated on the other pressie that had a most beautiful pink satin ribbon - mom stole that from me - she loved it!!!

WOOFFIES!!! Robbie Dawg Peanut Butter Carrot cookies!!! Gimme some Ma!

Oh My Dogness, are these ever yumzers! I ate half the box and could have snarfed down the whole thing if Ma had let me heheh!

And the shredded cheddar cheesy thing??? A wonderful parrot that, as you will see, I simply adore!

Look at all this loot! Okay guys, enough posing - it is time to play!

I totally favor Mr. Parrot as you can see and can't thank you enough, Asta! You were too thoughtful to think of me on my fave holiday - mucho smoochies back at you - big sloppy kissies too! We all hope you have a furry pawesome 2010, dear Asta and family. We also want to send huge thanks to Sally for organizing this fun secret santa arrangement! And if you don't know Asta, you can say a big hello to her at. Hope all you doggies have a wonderful time playing with the new loot in... the new snow, rain, but hopefully sunshine and with your peeps! Happy Boxing Day!

PS: Tomorrow is another "steak" day. I have an obedience trial again - will let you know how it goes - Mom is a nervous nelly about these things, but I know it'll go great heheh!

Merry Christmas To All

...Gave a luster of midday to objects below;
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But a miniature Ozzie with no trace of fear!

The girls had dropped by to bake cookies - what a kick!
And tonight they're laid out for good Old St. Nick.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a furry, furry Good Night!

Bigtime Gratitude

So when's Sandy Paws coming???
Woofs to all my incredibly wonderful blog pals. And may I add a bundle of holiday wishes too. I just wanted to let you know that Mom and Dad are beside themselves by the blizzard of card, virtual and paper, that I have received from so many of you throughout this holiday season. Almost every night, my dad makes a fire (when burning is allowed) and we open and read your cards together near the tree and fireplace. It has become the highlight of my day and, wink, wink, I think my pawrents' highlight too! Then we stick all the booty on (one of several now) ribbons that we've hung on the wall and gaze upon your bootiful mugs. We are so moved and grateful for your friendship and know how much effort it has taken for you to address and send these letters/emails to us and other pals out there. It's a reflection of what we doggies do effury day for our hoomans, right? No strings attached. Well...except I'm having trouble waiting now...waiting for Sandy Paws to show up with a treat or toy or sumpin for me! I've baked cookies for Sandy and I'm carefully going through all the carrots and apples around here to make sure there are no bruises, cause after all, those reindeer don't want bruises on their apples - but goodness there are a lot of them! May all your dreams and wishes come true (and I do woof hopefully) now and in the New Year. I send you all virtual kissies and hugs for a most wonderful howliday and again, a million thanks for your wonderful notes and cards.

Oh how we love looking at these!

Here's what we sit in front of when we read and gaze upon your pictures and wishes!

And here's that tree we cut down in the rain that day, all decorated up!

Okay... now I'm furry tired Dad and it's time to go to bed or eat or sumpin'! Thank you so much again - a zillion times! I love my blogging pals so much.

Doggie Cookies and Doggie Love

We have the lights on the tree and holiday music playing while we make doggie cookies!

Rolling out the doggie cookie dough...

Sierra Rose is over to help.

Okay, you're doing a good job.

Great work! Glad you didn't burn those - I'll give one of those a try - just to make sure.

Awwwww... c'mon!

I want one too!

Finally I think I'm going to be a cookie tester. After all, I've been so good and I am very hungry!

Me too... ohhhhh... that looks so yummy!

That was scrumptiers! Can I have another?

Uh oh! Distraction!!!

Ozzie: Uh Oh... Sierra's baaaaackkkk.

Well... they worked their problems out and now we need to decorate our doggie cookies!

Ohhhh.....they look so yummsers! Give me one now!

Ohhhhhh... Thank you - delicious!!!

Can I have just one more?

OK! Sierra here. My turn! You probably owe me like thirteen cookies!!!! Well alrighty! Thank you! (PS: I did snaggle quite a few ho ho ho!) And then it was time to go home.

Sierra never leaves without giving me a giant hug (isn't that nice???). Tonight, I thought I'd let you see our kissies! Nighty night. Oh and BTW, Grandpeep has started a new bloggie about her adorable baby rats, Pandy and Lulu. Stop by her place if you'd like at http://grandpeeprats.blogspot.com. Happy Holidays!
