Our Journey...

Think we forgot to tell you a lil bit about what sort of vacay we're on! Last September of 2011, Dad retired. He and momzers got an RV and decided to plan a trip across the country, visiting national parks on the way to Maine (where's that?) for a family reunion. That's a long trip from northern California! Anyway, this blog is now a record of our travels across the good ole U.S. of A. and even Canada - plus all the things we get to do and see! We started our journey mid-March and hope to be back in NoCal by mid-October - yeah!

Show and Tell: My Collection

The above photo is what instigated this post. Norwood asked what I had hanging from my collar, so I thought I'd show you my collection today since it's raining heavily. But first I need to woof a couple of things.
Awwkkk! I hope I get to go out!

Okay, so here starts the explaining. ONE of these would be a nice thing for dad to keep in his office. But. Dad has three... count 'em... three. And guess what he has all packed full in every drawer of each chest?
These. He collects these. Some are junk and some are nice.

These are some of his faves - oops, some are crooked! But he also collects all things "Welsh." Hence one reason for the enormous tag hanging off my collar.

I don't know where dad found this, but it's his family crest. I think it was meant to be a key chain, but he decided to make it into a tag for me. And then he put it on my Celtic collar that has a matching leash.

Our names and phone number are on the back.

I got this tag at the annual party that the rangers put on at McInnis Park.

Here are my collars. I like them and wear them all. Some of my collars are serving as "bandana holders" as you'll see in the next picture.

The top bandana is from Alaska as well as the bottom neck warmy. You can see my x-mas and summer neckware as well as my latest pumpkin bandana for Howloween!

I think it's very ridiculous that I have so many leashes cause I mostly go offleash, but a couple of them serve as training and trial leashes. I didn't put the long tracking leash in there or the flexi.

Here's an assortment of training bling.

And here is where I keep my collection - right near the kitchen door.

And right next to my bling are pictures and stories and awards, like my Canine Good Citizen certificate. Up top is that cool picture of Sam that I won! Thanks again, Sam! And some pictures of me and Honey that I got from Honey's mom. I treasure those.

The rain is lulling me back into some Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzs.

Hi Sammie,
Thanks for checking out my blog! You got quite a collection of collars there, but I think you might need a pink studded leather one for those days when you're feeling a little rebellious.

Your post prompted Momma to do a mental inventory- Brice and I each have a leather collar, a White Pine soft slip, WP regular collar and a chain collar. Plus Brice has a pinch collar and a Gentle Leader. And we each have two leashes. Momma has a lot more of each in her rescue bag in case they are needed during a transport.

I recognize the CGC certificate - we have one of those, too.

My mom said I'm crazy to have so many leashes and collars and stuff for Marge, but hey, they all have a use!

Wow, Sammie - that is SOME collection!!! And you even have your own wall space to hang it - hmmm! I think I need to have a word with my human! My collars and things are always all over the place, mixed in with their coats and stuff - no wonder they can never find it! And I only have 2 collars and 1 leash - although I do have a LOT of bandanas too!! :-)

Next time somebody says I have alot of bling-I'm showin' them your collection. Mom really likes that Celtic collar and the tag really sets it off. That's a cool buckle collection. Glad he didn't hang one of them big ones off your neck.

Hope it stops rainin' soon so you can go out to pee!

Soon you will need your own room for all your awards and collectables. We love your collars and those bandanna ones are very nice. Bandannas never stay in the right place on us, so that collar idea would be good, we'll have to ask Mom about that.

Hope your rain stops so you can go out. Our humans are headed to southern CA soon so they want the rain to stop too.

Sammie - there is no doubt, your Momma loves you. And we understand why!

Hi Sammie
Thanks so much for answering my question. THat's pretty cool that your dad collects all those things and shares with you. I'm a bit concerned with the collection of leashes and collars for you. Looks a bit like a serial killer's closets... ha

Hi Sammie, it looks like both you and your Dad like to collect things.
You both have impressive collections.
A girl can never have too many collars!
We also loved your Dad's storage chest - it was beautiful.
We honestly will put you on our blog roll today Sammie as we keep missing your posts and are very bad blogging buddies.

Hi Miche! I just wanted to clarify - my Mom is a survior, not me. I just wanted to remind everyone how important it is to do those monthly exams. Without that, I don't know if my Mom would still be here.

Hey Sammie,
We've got 10 leashes and about 14 collars, some of which we've out grown. Jubal and J.E.B. each have CGC awards but the rest of us didn't get them because we moved south. You have an impressive assortment of bling.
